SkySafari 6 pro with Celestron Accessories StarSense & SkyPoral Wi-Fi

SkySafari 6-pro will not perform a calibration after initial alignment.  Also it will not add additional alignment points.  I receive an "Operation Failed" error relating to the StarSense Autoalign accessory.  The messages typically state something related to a pointing error or too few stars.  Note I had this same issue with SkySafari 5-pro. 

The issue is consistent between my Celestron Evolution mount and my Celestron Advanced VX mount with the SkyPortal Wi-Fi module. I do not use a hand controller with either mount.

The Celestron SkyPortal App for IOS does not exhibit these symptoms.  And works flawlessly in alignment and calibration.

    Sorry for not responding sooner.  Are you still having these problems?  The Celestron Wi-Fi code in SkySafari 6 and SkyPortal should be the same so it is not clear why one would be having a problem and the other not.

    Celestron has asked me to refer these kinds of problems to their support center.  They wrote most of this code and understand it better that we do.

    The engineer at Celestron will try to reproduce your problem next week.  Right off hand he has no idea what could be happening.

    Hello Bill —  Yes the issue is still present.  If the Celestron Engineer cannot reproduce the error could you share their configuration with me?  That way we can verify it’s not a settings on my end.  

    Also, as a reminder this occurs on both my mounts - the Evolution and AVX (with SkyPortal Wi-Fi module) and i do not use the hand controller.

    Any further developments on this question? I am having the same problem Celestron EVO 9.25, updated firmware, SkySafari 6 Pro. Fails with message indicating "too few stars...", but plenty of stars out, clear skies, no wind. Tried two different Android phones (main phone Samsung S9, backup phone S8). Gave up, used hand controller, worked the first time. Unfortunately, once aligned with hand controller, can't connect or use "Go To" or slewing controls.

    Happened once before a couple of weeks ago, but OK on subsequent nights. Didn't have a chance to power cycle scope and re-try last night. However, re-booted both phones, and EVO (multiple times) while attempting to get alignment to work.

    Larry I have discovered the problem rarely occurs with my IOS tablet. And that is true with both SS-Pro 6 & 5.

    You should contact Celestron customer support about this.  My Celestron contact has not ben able to reproduce this.
