SkySafari 6 Plus (iOS) | Celestron CPC1100 Connection Failure. SkySafari 6 Plus cannot make a wireless network connection

I have a Celestron CPC1100 and use the Celestron SkyPortal WiFi Module. Skyportal 4.2.1 (on iPhone or iPad) has no problem connecting.

Yesterday, when launching Skyportal, I was notified of the upgrade offer to SkySafari 6, which I did (SkySafari 6 Plus to be exact). With identical settings as SkyPortal, SkySafari 6 will NOT connect and doesn't even detect the wi-fi, with the error: "Connection Failure. SkySafari 6 Plus cannot make a wireless network connection to the scope. Make sure you've joined its Wi-Fi network, and entered its IP address correctly."  I've double-checked every setting I can find, and tried resetting the WiFi Module, but no luck.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Phil

Sorry, you are having problems.  SkySafari 6 does indeed talk to the Celestron Wi-Fi unit.  I've verified this myself as have numerous beta testers.  So it must be something about your setup.

Did you specify the scope type as "Celestron Wi-Fi" in the Scope Setup settings?  SkyPortal does this automatically but in SkySafari you need to specify this explicitly as we support many scope types.

I had it set to "Celestron CPC Series" rather than "Celestron Wi-Fi".  Duh. Thanks for the clue, Bill!
