I purchased SkySafari 5 Pro for my son's new MacBook computer to control his new Celestron 5SE telescope, StarSense and SkyPortal WiFi dongle (my Christmas present to him). It does not seem to work. I called Celestron and they said SkySafari only works from an iPad and NOT from the MacBook! Is this true? Do I need to purchase it again for the iPad? Thanks!

Bill Tschumy The Mac product does not support connecting to a StarSense mount via the SkyPortal Wi-Fi. It does support connecting to StarSense though the hand controller jack via either a serial cable or using our SkyFi.
Yes, the iPad product is a separate purchase. You can always ask Apple to refund the Mac purchase and you can buy the iOS one instead.
