SkySafari 6 | Always On Voice Control

I think I will *really* like the voice control in SS6 (even though I haven't had a chance to try it yet)!  If I understand the help instructions for using it, I will have to push the microphone button each time.   Any chance you could provide an option to have it continually on?   In my particular case, alone in an observatory, it would be much easier ... although I can imagine at a star party it might be a mess if someone nearby happens to say the wrong thing.   So making it a configuration option ... or perhaps enabled by double-tapping or holding the microphone button for three seconds ... would be better,

Thanks for a great app!   Just trying to make it even better!

    Robert,

Voice control stays on for 60 seconds after you push the button.  That time also gets reset with each command.  So as long as you are actively using Voice Control it will stay on.  You do *not* need to push the button for each command.

Apple does have this limit that you can only listen fro 60 seconds at a shot.

But (and I know this is different), if you are connected to power, you can say "Hey Siri" and a device will start to listen and execute a command.   Let's see if I can just give SS6 a command within 60 seconds and keep it awake.

    Thanks, Bill

It was not possible to use "Hey Siri" to trigger listening.  Apple has only specific "domains" that Hey Siri can be used for.  Unfortunately scope control is not one of them ;-)

Listening all the time will also chew up the  battery much faster.  This is another reason I didn't try to do it.  In theory I could chain together 60 second listening periods.
