Celestron Sky Portal Wi-Fi Not Connecting

I have a second generation Celestron Skyportal WIFI module attached to my telescope. I connect with it fine using the SkyPortal app. I am unable to connect with it using your SkySafari Plus version 6.8.6.16. I've ensured the time and date that I am using are current. I've also tried all of the options for readout rate from 1 per second to 10 per second. I've also ensured that the scope type is set to Celestron Wi-Fi.

Please help. I like your app and have my observing lists prepared. I'd like to use SkySafari Plus for telescope control rather than switching back and forth between it and SkyPortal to control my scope.

  1. What Android OS version?
  2. What is the error message?
  3. Please attach a photo of the Celestron WiFi module.

  1. Android OS version: 13

  2. "Connection Failure. Sky Safari Plus can make a wireless connection to the scope, but the scope is not responding. Make sure the scope is powered on and connected correctly. Also make sure you selected the correct scope type."

  With regards to telescope control, there should be no difference between SkyPortal app and SkySafari 6 Plus 6.8.6.16.

  So, if the settings are the same, it should work.

  I suggest reinstalling the app.

  What scope & mount are you using?

  Yeah, I know. Should work the same. I'll try reinstalling and try to connect again.

  I'm using a Celestron NGT equatorial mount with a Celestron 8" SCT.

  Hi Keiron:

  I uninstalled and reinstalled SS 6 plus. Unfortunately I lost my observations and my lists. That's OK as I only had a few left when I upgraded to 6. I lost about 10 years of data when I upgraded.

  Anyway. No luck. As before I'm able to connect no problem with SP but unable to connect with SS. I tried dialing down the readout rate to 2 per second and 1 per second an with no success. SP is ver 3.4.4.0.

  Any other ideas?
