Sky chart "jumps" when dragging, when returning from Synscan

A bit of a strange one.

I've noticed that sometimes the sky chart in Sky Safari "jumps" when I start to drag it with my finger.

I have held off posting until now because it seemed random, and I know you don't like random glitches. But I've now pinned it down as follows:

- Sky Safari is running, and connected to the scope via Synscan
- Synscan is currently active on the device, then the Android task list is used to switch focus to Sky Safari
- The sky chart is displayed in Sky Safari, then a finger is immediately used to drag the chart in any direction
- The chart in Sky Safari Doesn't respond smoothly at first, instead it "jumps" instantaneously in what appears to be the opposite direction from the drag
- When it has jumped once, from then on there are no further glitches, it behaves smoothly - until the next time it returns from Synscan
- It doesn't seem to happen if returning to Sky Safari from a different app

I've been experiencing this for some time, but my current config is:

Android 11, Sky Safari Pro 7.1.4.0, Synscan Pro 1.19.16

I have recorded some videos of this happening, but it seems I can only upload still shots, which is a shame.

    Jamie,

Read through the write up I posted. I figured out a way to not have to keep switching apps. I don't know if it will work for everyone but on my Galaxy S22 Ultra running Android 13 I have been able to use SkySafari and SynScan like I used to.

Mike, I'm not sure how that helps with my issue.

If it works for you the only time you need to interact with the SynScan app is when you connect and align. After you only need to use SkySafari.

I know that I can control the scope through Sky Safari, but I still need to switch to Synscan sometimes.

I made not have explained myself properly. Unless You. Want to for whatever reason there's no longer? A need. 2 switch back-and-forth between sky safari and Synscan.

I've posted a video of this behaviour here:

    https://streamable.com/2v1f8c

I'm now running Pro 7.6.5.4 on both my phone (Android 16) and tablet (Android 13).

This behaviour has persisted on both, for all versions of app and Android, since I reported it.
