Is there a feature comparison between the Starry Night 8 SE that comes with Celestron Scope and the normal retail versions of SN 8 ?

Keiron Smith David,

Starry Night Celestron 8 SE = CSAP 8 but also includes telescope control. Telescope control is a feature otherwise reserved for Pro and Pro Plus.
Thanks!

Ryan Crabtree Hello,
I'm brand new. I recently got a Celestron NexStar 127SLT which came with the Starry Night Celestron SE version. I understand this is basically the CSAP with scope control. I received an email with a discount code to upgrade to the Pro Plus version, but looking at the comparison chart, I'm totally confused! I really don't understand what most of the items listed actually mean. Are we talking about mostly far greater detailed information regarding space objects? Is there much more than just info?
At this point, I feel like my super beginner position leads me to stay with the low version I have for now. It does have the controls for my telescope...
Also, does this require for me to start with an alignment using the Celestron software first, and then switching to this?
Sorry I'm such a newb! Thank s in advance for the help.
Ryan

Keiron Smith Ryan,
Starry Night Celestron SE is perfect for beginners - that's why it is shipped with all Celestron telescopes.
Pro Plus is full of advanced features, and many more databases - which is also why you don't understand the comparison chart. I would say, when you understand what each Pro item on the comparison chart is, then you are ready to upgrade.
Yes, star-align your scope first before connecting with Starry Night.
If you need further help troubleshooting your telescope setup please create a NEW post.
Thanks!
