Why Does SkySafari Pro Not Show Stars From 13th to 15th Magnitude?

Dear SkySafari Team,

I used to be able to see stars to Magnitude limits > Mag 15 but there seems to be some update that prevents me from showing > Mag 12 now. Please fix. Appreciate there might be some compute factor to prevent from stalling but when zoomed in, need to plate solve with the full Mag limit of SkySafari Pro.

  1. What app and version?  Look in Help > scroll to the bottom.
  2. What OS version?
  3. What device?

  Hello Keiron,

  The App is: SkySafari 6 Pro ,Version: 6.8.4.1, OS Version: Android version 11, on Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e (SM-T720).

  Hello SkySafari Team

  Please find attached two pictures of the same M57 Ring Nebula region with the Mag 15 and 17 galaxies showing but only stars to Mag 12 after the recent SW patch. The earlier pic shows what was visible before the latest SW patch. Please confirm when you will fix so I can access the full star DB which SkySafari Pro6 offers since I really need this for my imaging plate solving.

  Have you looked at your magnitude settings in Settings > Stars?

  Yes thanks Keiron,

  That's how I originally adjusted the Star Magnitude Limit. Please see the following three screenshots which no longer seem to show stars >12-13th Magnitude:

  - First Screenshot: Note I've set both Magnitude Limit and Never Show Fainter Than to > 17th Magnitude.

  - Second Screenshot: Adjusted Never Show Fainter Than to Mag 17.2.

  - Third Screenshot: Adjusted Magnitude Limit to 17.5.

   

  

   

  

   

  

  As you can see the sample starfield around the Ring Nebula still no longer shows the fainter strings of stars which I showed previously (luckily re-captured here for reference on what I expect to see once this issue is fixed):

  Just wanted to check the status of this since I'm really missing seeing the fainter Magnitude stars that are included in SkySafari 6 Pro... I need them for my plate solving...
