How Come In the Planner I Cannot Give It A Negative Declination? (Answer: Use The SS7-Specific Keyboard)

My keyboard won't let me put a negative Declination in the Planner.  Steps to duplicate:

1. Go into Observe > Planner.  Select Bright Nebulae and Dark Nebulae for Object Type

2. In the Restrict to Ranges section, click in the field for "Declination in Degrees".  A keyboard pops up with a button that is labeled ".-".  When you click on that button it gives you a periond "." instead of a minus signt "-".  Give it the values -26 to -27.  You'll notice it returns .26 to .27.

3.  Click in another field to set the values just described.  Then click Do Search at the bottom.

Nothing is returned because those are invalid values.

    Bryan,

    Please provide the following information:

    1. App and version
    2. Android OS
    3. Device make and model
    4. Are you using the SkySafari-specific keyboard?

    Thanks!

    Hi Keiron

I didn't realize there was a SkySafari keyboard but selecting it allowed me to put in a negative Dec.  The Planner was fine at that point and we can close this out.  It might be good to have some type of widget, or choice, in one of the SkySafari screens to choose the SS Keyboard so that it's more obvious to users.

    Thanks,

    Bryan

The answer mentions the SS7 keyboard.  My SS6 has an SS7 keyboard?

Your SS6 app includes an SS6 keyboard.

If the issue exists in SS7 as well, the solution will be to use the SS7 keyboard.

    Thanks!
