Why does the cursor not match the screen position of a chosen object?

Originally from ticket #6762.

After clicking on an object in Starry Night Pro, say M31, my new scope, an LX200 ACF GPS, slews and the object is centered in the eyepiece. However, the on-screen cursor in Starry Night Pro ends up nowhere near M31. It is some six degrees west of it. I've tried syncing gaze but that doesn't work. Occasionally, the cursor will FOR A BRIEF INSTANT appear in the proper place on the screen but then shoots off westerly to a different position. The system is working very well but the cursor always ends up in the wrong place. Why?

    Hi Bill,

Please look in Help ---> ABout Starry Night.  What version are you running?  It will be something like 6.3.9.  What does it say?
