Hi Lewis,
Thank you for contacting Starry Night support. My name is Keiron, and I'm here to help.
Please right-click the Starry Night application in the (C:)-->Program Files folder and choose "Run as Admin".
Please let me know if this works for you.

Keiron,
Thanks for the "run as Administrator" info. I tried it and it worked. I have Starry Night on my taskbar and I have to right click twice on it, once to bring up options and then another right click on Starry Nights offers the option to run as administrator.
But as you know, this is like layers of an onion. I still have problem in the ASCOM Telescope Chooser dialog box. I select my telescope, click on properties… and set the serial port to COM 3 (the choices are COM1 and COM3). Running Starry Nights as administrator it is able to save the info, but when I go to CONNECT to the telescope I get a message that there is nothing to connect to on COM2. When I go back to the CONFIGURE button in telescope setup, it shows my telescope on COM2. I change it to COM3 and then check it again and it shows the telescope on COM2. Is this a bug in the ASCOM software and is there any work-around?
Thanks so much for your help.
Bill
Hi Bill,
Which telescope are you trying to connect?
Keiron,
Thanks. I have a Meade Classic LX200 (purchased in 2000) and I have tried using both the LX200 and the Generic LX200 types. My Meade has a handset with “Revision 3.21” printed on it.
