Originally from ticket #10550.
I have two laptops. One instantly connects Starry Night to my Meade GPS/R running Win 7 with a 64-bit operating system. The other, running Vista, with a 32-bit operating system, displays the message: "Something other than a Meade GPS/R seems to be connected to the COM port" when I try to connect with the GPS/R.
Both laptops are set up exactly the same and both have identical versions and updates of Starry Night.
What is happening here?

Confirm the checklist:
1. Latest Ascom platform
2. Latest driver
3. Latest firmware for paddle.
4. Latest driver for USB to Serial cable.
