OS: OSX 10.9.2 (Mavericks)
SN7 Version: 7.0.0.90
Scope is configured as Celestron NexStar 4 GT.
Pressing the connect button results in the "Configure" button being greyed out. All other buttons remain greyed out, and the position displays show "N/A".
Using the same configuration on SN6 on the same Mac works as expected.
Further information:
When SN7 is configured and the connect button is pressed, it does appear that a valid connection of some type is established. The FOV indicator for the telescope appears on-screen at the correct location, and moving the scope using the hand controller appears to track correctly in SN7.
However, if an object is selected and the "Slew To" option is selected from the context menu, SN7 crashes. (I have submitted a crash report).
All all times the telescope panel reports "N/A" as the position.
Forgot to mention that the above is using SN7 version 7.0.0.91
V 7.0.0.92 shows the same problem.
Issue still exists in 7.0.0.93
Installing 7.0.0.93 on a different computer (MacBook Air) using a different driver for the same USB Serial converter cable produces the same results.

I assume you are using nexremote, are you doing your star align with nexremote first before connecting to Starry Night? What is your procedure to align and connect for use with Starry Night, I am curious being Celestron user myself.
I use one of the handset alignment procedures first. At this stage just the one-star procedure since it's fast, and I am waiting for them to correct the control problems before proceeding further.
Once a build of SN7 is released that controls the scope properly (SN7 currently crashes whenever it tries to move it) and reports the position, etc, I'll move onto more accurate testing.
I'm using two Mac computers, so I'm not using ASCOM to drive the scope. I figure there are probably plenty of Windows testers, so I'm only testing against OSX.
Build 7.0.0.95 still demonstrates the same defect.

Telescope panel now shows the numerical scope position on initial connection. However, this position does not update when the scope moves, either through normal tracking or slewing the scope using the control box.
The scope FOV indicator on SN7 display does move as the scope moves.
Attempting to slew the scope to an object in SN7 or by using the centre scope on centre of display function results in a crash. Crash report has been submitted.
This thread is now 2 years old. I believe the issues have been addressed. The latest version of SN7 is 7.5.3. If you still want assistance with your Celestron scope please submit a ticket request for assistance.
