How do I add orbit date markers. For example, I would like to show the orbit of an asteroid with hour markers on the path over one evening or date markers over a month.
First of all, you need to have Starry Night draw the celestial path of the object. Do that by clicking the box in the Celestial Path column in the Find pane (2 columns right of the "i" icons). Under the Options menu, choose Orbit/Path Options. Tell it to mark every "1" step. Now advance the date one day at a time. Starry Night will draw the path and mark it every day.
