The planet Venus was at a minimum distance from Earth recently, maybe a month ago, and my uncle wanted to find out when are the future dates, and also past dates, when this close proximity will occur?

Dave Whipps Here's a good article explaining when Venus and Earth can be at closest approach, called an Inferior Conjunction:

Starry Night can tell you when Venus and Earth will be in Conjunction by using the Events panel. If you mouse over the Planetary Events under the "Event Filters" group and select only Venus and "Solar Conjunctions". Click Find Events and Starry Night will let you know when these will occur.
