Originally from ticket #7840.
I want to import 3ds files to replace Earth. It for some reason doesn't recognize the file. Also, 3ds files I believe, has been phased by Autodesk. Is there another file format I can use?

Please attach the 3ds file in a reply here.
Have you tried importing any other 3ds files? Is this importing issue connected to the Earth 3ds only or are all 3ds files you are importing affected?
