Earth observation from the Lagrange 1 and 2 points

Dear Sir/Madam:

We need to simulate the view of Earth from the Sun-Earth L-1 and L-2 points (about 1.5 million km from Earth in the Ecliptic plane and in line with the Sun at all times). We need this simulation to better describe the observations to be made by the DSCOVR satellite to be launched in January 2015.

Could you please, if possible, help us to set-up Starry Night Pro 6 to do this?

Any support to achieve this will be most appreciated.

    The best way would be to create a new object in Starry Night with the orbital elements which you expect DSCOVR to have. Then you could use Starry Night's "Go There" command (in the contextual menu) to go to DSCOVR. From there you could view the Earth etc.

    Thank you very much for your response. But still cannot do it.  Problem: DSCOVR orbits the Sun with the same angular velocity as the Earth and in the Ecliptic plane. It is like a "satellite-planet". Thus, is always at a point L-1 between the Earth and the Sun and on the line from the Sun to the Earth.  Another satellite at L-2 (Sun-Earth line but behind the Earth) will also be deployed in the future. L-1 and L-2, as you know, are the points in space between the Sun and the Earth where the gravitational pull from the Sun exactly matches the Sun gravitational pull at the centre of the Earth thus, L-1 and L-2 will orbit the Sun in synchronism with the Earth. Will appreciate your help!!!!
