Latitude & Longitude

Originally from ticket #14599.

Hello
I am having difficulty setting my 'home' location. I have tried all of your guidance above. I have tried selecting from your list of cities, entering the Lat/Long co-ordinates and even tried using the (tiny) map option (postcode does not work). While I can find my location (London UK), I cannot seem to get Starry Night to accept it as my home/default location. I can (temporarily) move my location using the map. However the map is so tiny (it does not seem to be zoomable) that this is pretty hopeless.
I am effectively stuck in 'S Hertogcabosch in the Netherlands.
I have tried everything I can think of. I have restarted the programme etc.

Hi Rex,

What is the exact numerical values in Lat & Long that you are trying to enter?

Hello

I am sorry that I missed you.

When I set my home address in the system I used the Lat/Long coordinates that I got off Googlemaps for my location.

I do not know how to go back into your system to check exactly what numbers I put in, though they should be correct, as I ‘cut and pasted’ them directly (rather than transcribing them).

I have done this again (from google maps) and the result is:

51°31'42.0"N 0°01'57.8"W

Hi Rex,

We are not finding any issues with the program in regards to entering long/lat for home location.

Please see this screenshot: http://cl.ly/image/3H303Q1w3q2j

Please enter the long/lat exactly as you see it entered in the screenshot.

Does that help?

Thank you very much

That seemed to work!

    Hi

    Please help me too.

I do have 2 problems with setting latitude / longitude.

#1 I'm not able to type anything in the fields.  Eevry time I type something the value automatically changes to something else.

#2 How do I calculate the exact format. I've found Latitude: 51.527693 degrees and Longitude: 5.928119 degrees

    Kind regards

Entering a Latitude value greater than 90º crashes SS 6 Pro and leaves a Site entry with invalid data. (I did this on purpose to see what would happen.)
