Default Panorama

Default Panorama doesn't save, I go to FILE/SET HOME LOCATION I select SET PANORAMA and it changes to the one I selected for this one time the software is opened.  As soon as I close SN7 Pro Plus and re open it, it goes back to the original DEFAULT PANORAMA.  Please help.

I have the same issue on a Mac with OSX 10.10. I put in a support request on 1/9/2015 and have not heard a word.

I'm having the same issue, put in a request for information 6 days ago and not even an acknowlegement of the issue much less a reply.  Absolutely dreadful customer service.

In the absence of a response from this support forum, I have found a solution to this issue, but it requires editing the prefs.txt file which is protected. I was able to open this file only with Xcode. It would not open with a text editor. I changed the default panorama to the one I have chosen. I also made some other changes to configure SN 7 to my preference. Path on a Mac for this file is Users/<your user name>/Library/Application Support/Simulation Curriculum/Starry Night Prefs/Pro/prefs.txt.

Backup the file before you edit it!!!

    For Windows users:

    Look for the path

    <Windows Drive>:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Simulation Curriculum\Starry Night Prefs

There you find a lot of subdirectories with i.e. the prefs.txt (in the "Pro Plus" subdir) and other .txt files.

    HI Gang,

We are aware of this issue, and will have a fix for it in 7.2.1.

Note, the proposed workaround in not officially endorsed.

Nonetheless, thanks, James, for your innovation!

And, as James advises, please backup any files before you start editing.

Thanks Ingo for ALL your replies in the support forums.

Windows 10 - being able to select one of the provided horizons is hit and miss sometimes it works other times no change to the horizon. Once it works it will usually stay the default for that location.
