Keiron Smith Glenn,
If this is also affecting SS6 Pro then perhaps the issue is not the app itself.
Please reboot your iPads and try again.
Also, set the iPads to airplane mode, and launch the apps. Do they still crash?
Thanks!

Glenn Kelly Keiron,
Thank you for your swift reply.
Yes, the crashing does happen with SS6 and SS7. I did not reboot because I do that once a week and this has been a problem for a long time, and I had just rebooted after deleting both SS6 & SS7 and re-downloaded and installed SS7 on both iPad Pro’s. SS7 still kept crashing on both iPads.
Finally, I tried SS7 on both iPads with them switched to ‘airplane mode’ and SS7 remained stable on both. Disablong ‘airplane mode’ made the app crash on both iPads when it was running before.
In my opinion, this indicates that there are problems with SS6 and SS7 code. There is absolutely no reason why the switch back and forth of the ‘airplane mode’ should have any detrimental impact on the apps. Furthermore, disabling WiFi & Cellular is a terrible inconvenience when running SS7 and 6 since I use the iPad with other apps that need to be running with SS7. SIMBAD data bases, AAVSO online observation apps as an example. None of the other Sky/Planetarium apps on the iPad crash because of WiFi and Cellular services being enabled. Having this turned off also prevents access to Starry Night online as well.
So I believe that it is time for SCC programmers to revisit their code and correct this issue. Forcing usersto swithch on ‘Airplane mode’ just to use a single app is ridiculous and burdensome. To prove a coding point, this SS6 & SS7 never crash on the iPhone because of ‘airplane mode’ being turned off. The difference is obviously related to the differences between iOS and iPadOS pointing to programming issues.
Regardless, I thank you for responding with a workaround despite it being a personal inconvenience.

Keiron Smith Glenn,
When you reinstalled the apps did you login to LiveSky again? I want to know if the crashing persists even if you remain logged out of livesky in the settings.
We can look at fixing this issue but need you to be on the latest version.

Glenn Kelly I received the following in an email from the App Store that reads as follows:
"This should be fixed. Please ensure your app is updated and if you have any further issues, please reach out to us in the community forums for more direct assistance: https://support.simulationcurriculum.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/201239587-SkySafari-7-iOS-Apps"
The version on both iPad Pro 12.9” is at v7.5.2 which seems to be the latest version. That said, Sky Safari Pro 7.5.2 STILL CRASHES when Airplane mode is Off and WiFi is enabled. So this issue has not been resolved unless the App Store update is lagging behind submission.
