4th May 2025. I use Microsoft Defender across a number of my devices (Laptops desktops and Android Phone) It has just now flagged up SkySafari Pro 7 as containing malware and is recommending that the app is deleted immediately. Would appreciate someone from Simulation Curriculum coming back rapidly on whether this is a false positive, or whether there's a real problem here.
Phone is a Samsung S21 Ultra.
MS Defender is the Microsoft app that scans my phone.
It's running Android 14
Until SkySafari Pro 7 responds to your inquiry and is declared safe from malware, you might consider using the Stellarium app. It works fine and does not trigger any malware warnings on my Android phone with Microsoft Defender.
Cheers Mike. I am using Stellarium (can't have too many scopes - can't have too many astronomy apps either!) Bit disappointed that nobody from the company was interested in sorting this one.
FYI, I reinstalled the Sky Safari 7 Pro yesterday and there are no warnings from Microsoft Defender! Hooray!!
