How can I get SkySafari to automatically set the time and location on my Skywatcher Synscan controller during initial setup? I’m using SkySafari and a Skywire cable, and the Set Time & Location setting is grayed our in SkySafari.

  You can't.  SkyWatcher doesn't provide that option and that is why it is grayed out.  Sorry.

  Actually, it seems like things have changed according to this document : http://ca.skywatcher.com/download/application-notes/synscan-pc-command-set/

  "Set Location" and "Set Time" are now available

  Any chance we can see that implemented in a near future ?
