It looks like the Serial jack on my older (2003) Orion 10" IntelliScope Object Locator uses an R J22, which is smaller in width than RJ11 used by other DSC units. Has anyone else noticed this? Is Orion using the standard RJ 11 now?

Robert Wieting I bought my XT12i in 2014, it has a 7880 IOL. I use this with a 5969 StarSeek WiFi and iPad w/ SkySafariPro 5.
My IOL has two sockets: [a] 6 conductor with coil cable to scope; [b] 4 conductor for RS232, an RJ11 (I believe).
I got this all to work by getting Orion's 05222 "RS232 IntelliScope to PC Cable" kit (https://www.telescope.com/Orion/Orion-IntelliScope-to-PC-RS-232-Connector-Cable/rc/2160/p/5222.uts?keyword=05222u).
