[Needs Path To Reproduction] SkySafari 5 Plus | If You Exit SkySafari, Then Open It Again, Everytime You Unlock The Screen, The Application Reloads

If you exit sky safari for android, then open it again, every time you unlock the screen, the aplication reloads, as if you had closed it before the screen went black. This happens even if sky safari is the active application. The problem goes away after restarting the phone, but if you ever answer "exit" to the "exit application" window, then the problem starts happening again.

That's very annoying, specially if connected to the telescope. Fortunately, it seems like you can avoid it by never exiting the app.

I'm using android 7.1.1 on a moto z phone. Sky Safari 5 Plus.

    Well, exiting the application does what it says - it exits.  When you come back to it it will reload it.  It has been this way for about 6 years.

    That said, I am currently working on SkySafari 6 for Android.  I will see if I can do something to make this behave better.

    The problem is not that the application exits, that's normal. The problem is that if you exit the aplication, then open it again, from that moment every time you unlock the screen, the application will reload.

    To be clear, normal behaviour is that you open the application, lock/unlock the screen and the application will continue to run.

    But if you ever exit the application, the next time you open it, you lock/unlock the screen, and you will find that sky safari isn't running anymore. That happens even if sky safari is the active application when the screen is locked. You open sky safari again (or recall it from the list of last used apps), and it shows the splash screen, you need to reconnect to your telescope, etc.

    I hope that makes it clear.

    Hi, 

    It's not clear what you are describing.  And, I do not find the same result as you.  Please take a moment to outline step by step what I should do to reproduce this issue; i.e, do X, do Y, do Z, etc.  If you could add screenshots that would help too.

    Also, does it matter whether you are connected to a scope?

    Of course, this is the step by step:

    -Exit sky safary by using Android's triangle button. When it asks "are you sure you want to exit sky safari plus?", answer yes.
    - Now open sky safari again, and keep the app visible on the screen.
    - Lock the phone's screen.
    - Unlock the phone's screen.
    Now the app is gone. Not even in background, but closed. If you try to recall it by using Android's square button, or by clicking the app's icon, the aplication opens again, showing the splash screen. If you were connected to the scope, now it's disconnected.

    It doesn't matters if the scope is connected or not to reproduce this behaviour. It happens just by following the steps above.

    Not sure how to upload a screen here, i don't see any option to attach them. But probably there is no need to capture screens here, as there aren't many involved.

    Thanks for the step-by-step.  Still this is not what I am seeing.  I find...

    - Lock the phone's screen.
    - Unlock the phone's screen. 
    Now the app is gone. Not even in background, but closed.

    At this point I do not see the app on the phone, and I am required to unlock the phone for general use.

    However, as soon as I unlock my phone SkySafari returns to the screen.  I do not see splash screen.  I am returned to the same state of the app at the point at which I locked the phone.  I do not know whether the scope is disconnected at this point.  I will have to confirm this point.

    I'm going to guess this issue originates in Android 7.0.  I can't upgrade my phone past 6.0.  So, we will need another phone or two to verify if this is an OS issue.
