This blog post from Sky & Telescope (http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/new-interactive-constellation-guide-takes-you-back-in-time/) shows how cool it is to look at stars and know when the light we are seeing left that particular star. I think I’m right in saying that this is not possible in Sky Safari. If so, is it something that could be added in the future?

Bill Tschumy All you need to do is subtract the star's distance in light years from the current date. That is when the light you are seeing now left the star. So you can do it with a small amount of math.
If the distance is 57 light years away, then the light left approximately in the year 2018 - 57 = 1961.
