SkySafari 6 Pro | Is There An Option To Turn On PEC In The Celestron Wi-Fi Settings? (Answer: No - Ask Celestron To Develop This Feature)

I am Running Skysafari 6 pro on Ipad pro, with CGX mount, Starsense (USB version ) w Latest SS update (Polar Alignment)

Is it possible to activate PEC on a STARSENSE HC while alignment and guiding is being done via Skysafari 6 pro?

I tried to do this tonight on my CGX mount , with a Starsense system, after alignment with Skysafari 6 pro.

When I tried to activate PEC on The SS hand control it reported the mount needed to be in RA mode.

I verified Skysafari 6 pro was set for RA only mode.

Also verified the HC TRACKING  reported

    RATE: Disabled
    Mode: RA Only

Any suggestions on using PEC and Skysafari 6 pro

Thanks

Stephen

    Stephen,

Are you connecting through the bottom of the hand controller or are you using a Celestron Wi-Fi module?  If the former, SkySafari shouldn't prevent you from enabling this via the hand controller.  If the latter, you will need to contact Celestron to see if this is supported in any way.  I don't think you can enable it in SkySafari.

    Hi bill.

i am using Celestron WiFi module with skysafari 6pro.

i realize you don,t have any interface to pec in the hc.

i was curious if you knew if it is possible to enable pec on the SS hand control while using skysafari.

i saw it is possible to enable RA only in skysafari but it appeared as if the SS handcontrol did not recognize this state.

    Thanks for any help

    take care

No, to my knowledge there is no option to turn on PEC in the SkySafari Celestron Wi-Fi settings.  If you would like to see this, you should submit a request to Celestron.  They are the ones that decided the feature set available.

Anything you do in the hand controller (other than moving the scope) will *not* be recognized by the SkySafari app.  And any setting you change in the app will not be seen by the hand controller.  The two do not talk to each other.  Again, this is how Celestron designed things.
