I need to ask a seemingly silly question with the hope that someone has done this and can answer me.
With the Celestron Evolution WiFi system the slew control for the Telescope is on the screen of the device one is using to align it. When doing an alignment one needs to tweek the telescope this way and that to get the alignment star in the center. It seems kind of difficult (I haven't tried it yet) to align the telescope using Celestrons's Sky Align system connected to a PowerBook. This would mean I either hold it in my hand as I try to look through the eyepiece, or constantly move back and forth between the laptop and the eyepiece. So I am trying to figure out how to use my PowerBook to control my Celestron telescope.
With my old Meade all I had to do was use the hand controller to move the scope, then use SkySafari Pro one my laptop to control the telescope during observations.
Is there say a possible connection between my iPhone and the PowerBook, so that I can use the iPhone as a handy slew controller as I do an alignment? I know with the Celestron WiFi Sky Align process, one cannot use the hand controller at all.
I am trying to learn to use this new machine. Any thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!
