extraction Failed on Mac

When extracting the offline data on a Mac (10.13.6), it errors several times with "Extraction Failed" (that is, if you select "cancel". If you select "OK" after the first fail, then it quits outright). Not sure how unzipping a file can fail unless it is corrupted.

    Hi Dale,

First, the option to install the offline data is not available in the default installer.  You can download and run the default installer to try this.

Second, if the extraction failed then likely the download of the offline data installer did not successfully complete.  You could try downloading the offline data installer again too.

    Thanks!

The "default" installer? I assume you mean the "Install Starry Night Pro Plus 7.pkg" installer inside the starrynightproplus7.dmg file (downloaded it form the original email). And it does have the option for the offline data, under "Customize". Second, there does not appear to be a Mac version of the offline data installer program, like there is for Windows. At least I cannot find one. Third, it seems to successfully download the offline files, at least it doesn't indicate it failed, It proceeds to the uncompressing stage without error.

    Hi Dale,

By "default" I did mean the starrynightproplus7.pkg installer.

Here are all the individual offline data installers:

    macOS:
    Pro - http://stars.starrynight.com/offline/starrynightpro7offlinedata.dmg
    Pro Plus - http://stars.starrynight.com/offline/starrynightproplus7offlinedata.dmg

    Windows:
    Pro - http://stars.starrynight.com/offline/starrynightpro7offlinedata.exe
    Pro Plus - http://stars.starrynight.com/offline/starrynightproplus7offlinedata.exe

Happy for your success!  Enjoy the offline data!

New info. I have a Windows copy that DID install the offline data without error, and so I used a Mac app called Delta Walker to compare the SkyData files from Windows and the Mac install (I assume both versions share the same data files), and they were identical. So it appears to have installed all the files, despite the error messages saying extraction failed. So, that's all that matters.
