Can't stay connected on Android SS5+

I have some digital setting circles that I connect via WiFi.  I select "Basic Encoders" and "Alt-Az Push To".  I am using the default IP of 1.2.3.4 and port 4030.   This setup is working fine on SkySafari 6 Plus on IOS 11.4.1 to an iPad.

On my Android 7.0  phone I have SS 5 Plus.   I can momentarily connect but it then says "no internet access" and switches back to my house WiFi.  How can I keep it connected?

What is the WiFi device connecting SkySafari to the DSC?  Thanks!

This doesn't  seem to be a SkySafari issue.  I believe you are saying your Android device won't stay connected to the DSC Wi-Fi, independent of SkySafari.  Right?

Yes,  It seems to not like that the NodeMCU does not have internet access and switches to a network that does.  I seem to remember that Android used to have some control over this but I can't find it on my Moto G5+.

I was hoping you folks had encountered this and could recommend something.
