Celestron Evolution | SkySafari 6 Pro Wifi Connection Only Stable When Not Near Other Hotspots (Answer: This Is A Celestron Hardware Issue, Contact Celestron Support)

I like the functions of SkySafari Pro but I have some issues with the wifi connection.

Issue 1: the wifi connection is only stable when no other hotspot is near by, respectively the sending power of the telescope is higher then the power of the the other hot spot. Therefore results that I keep the tablet max 2 meters away from the telescope and not more, which is not that what I expect, especially when it's cold.

Issue 2: when the display is switching off, the connection to the telescope breaks. Every time I have to increase the switch off time of the display. A nice function would be to keep the display on when the telescope is connected.

    1. You need to speak to Celestron about this.  We have nothing to do with the Wi-Fi connection between your device and the mount.  I know a few Evolution units shipped with weak Wi-Fi radios and Celestron has replaced some of them.

    2. Look in Settings > Appearance & Behavior.  There is an option called "Prevent Sleep" that is just for this purpose.

    Thanks for the answer.

1: I did this: Before I used Sky Safari, I used SkyPortal from Celestron, which lost the connection frequently. They told me it is a problem of my tablet if there are other hot spots. I should use an IOS or another tablet. And really when I used the telescope in an outdoor area with no other hotspots, it was stable. Before buing a new tablet, that could have the same problem, I tried SkySafari and it is much better and much more stable, but still I see the depending to the hotspot I mentioned above, but under keeping 2m it works.

For me it seems the behaviour differs on these two Apps on the same hardware. Just FYI.

    2. Solved. I dind't saw that.

    Best regards

    Konrad
