Extrasolar planets / Exoplanets in SkySafari

Can we request exoplanets be added to the database?  When we orbit the sun we see planets, so it is reasonable that a future update could support planets around other stars.

Thank you,

Bryn

Unfortunately, I don't think this will be a high priority for us.  SkySafari is mainly designed for observers and you can't observe exoplanets.

They may get added in the next couple of years as we start using the SkySafari engine in some of our educational products.

    Hi Bill,

I understand - there is not much return for you.  I would pay $4.99 again for an exoplanet add-on though!

And PS:  I consider your software educational as well!  For the record, I will never visually see an exoplanet, but neither will I ever see Pluto, minor planets, satellites, etc. and yet I still enjoy visualizing them in your software.  Just something to consider.

We can close this ticket though!

    Thanks,
    Bryn

NASA has a free desktop App for Exoplanets. It is called Eyes on Exoplanets for mac and pc. This is the best way to find out more about Exoplanets. So you don't need Exoplanets an add-on for Sky Safari.
