Slew Limits within Sky Safari

I noticed that Sky Safari tends to be more picky if it thinks that there could be a slewing problem (either too low or high) and will not allow you to slew to an object to prevent any kind of damage.  There are times when I can easily see a planet still visible above the horizon and I will get a message from Sky Safari about not be able to slew to the object.  I will then do another Star Sense align using the hand control and tell it to go to planet well above the horizon line and I do not het any warning messages.  There are also times that I will get a warning about the slew limits using the hand control but I can hit <enter> to override it.

I would like Sky Safari to be able to have an override option also since most of the time, there is plenty of clearance on my scope that it will not hit the mount.  And why does Sky Safari give me a message that it cannot slew to an object when it's still above the horizon?

SkySafari *does not* implement any slew lists itself.  It relies on the mount's limits.  We send a GoTo command to the mount and it returns an error if it exceeds a slew limit.  We then display the error.

I'm not sure why you are having this problem with SkySafari but not when using the hand controller.  Are you connecting through the bottom of the hand controller, or are you using Celestron Wi-Fi?

I'm not aware of an "override" command we could send to the mount.

    Bill,

     I am using Celestron Wi-Fi.

Because of this problem, I tend to use the hand control over Sky Safari.

You should probably contact Celestron support about this.  This is their code that we've added to SkySafari.  They support it.
