I'm seeing the screen flash when I do the following:
1) Select and center on an object
2) Zoom in to a degree or less
3) Using the quick menu at the top left, quickly tap on the + and - back and forth (Stars or DSO) and you'll see objects and stars flash on then off
This is much easier to see on a tablet, as you see a lot more screen, but it's happening on phones too.
Samnsung Galaxy Tab 2 with Android 7 and Galaxy S8 with Android 8, both updated on SS6 Pro

I just tried this on two devices, one of which is running Android 8. I'm not seeing any flashing whatsoever.
Does it flash with every tap? If you tap slowly does it happen? Is it only in certain ranges of magnitudes or does it always happen?
Slow tapping isn't reproducing it, only fast, and usually up around 17-18 mag.
Do you have the PGC and UCAC5 extensions installed? 17-18th magnitude for DSOs or stars (or doesn't it matter).
UCAC5 installed only. 17-18 doesn't matter which. I also tried other side of sky and it still existed. It's pretty quick flashes.
