[Feature Request] Ability to turn on/off In-App Purchases

I'm a purely visual observer, so I thought the $5 in-app purchase of the additional galaxies was pointless for me.  Today, I was looking at a picture from a few days ago of the astronomy picture of the day and I thought maybe I could see a couple faint galaxies in the picture.  I wanted to verify it, but these were too faint to be included automatically within SS6 Pro.  SO, I'd like to have it when I need it, but I'm kind of thinking there might be a lot of faint galaxies I'll never see.  I 'guess' I could go to the DSO settings and move the never show fainter than up a lot, then go move it back afterwards so I'm not flooded with galaxies in the field, but I'm really not sure if this is the best way to do this.  Being able to quickly turn on/off the additional databases might be easier.

I think that is exactly what the "Never Show Fainter Than" feature is for.

While not the cleanest solution you can "disable" the catalogs by going to your "SkySafari 6 Pro" directory and renaming the catalog to something else.  This will cause it not to get loaded when you start the app.  The in-app purchase screen will change to "Download" rather than "Installed".  I totally admit it is a bit of a hack.

I tried what you said as far as renaming the file, or even moving it out of the directory completely.  While the icon did change back to 'Download' it's almost as if it loaded the galaxies into a database that still shows, because I'm getting a LOT of galaxies when I increase the DSO magnitude, and when I put the file back into the directory and reopen SS, the number of galaxies stays the same in that FOV with the DSO mag turned way up.  It's now impossible for me to tell if a galaxy is part of the extension or just part of what I would have had originally, which is a little frustrating.  For example, PGC 4097706, is that original to SS Pro or extension only?  It shows up either way.  I also don't see an easy way to log out of SkyLive so that I just go to a 'stock version' of SS, if it would even work that way.

This has nothing to do with LiveSky.

I just don't see how that is possible.  You did restart the app, right?  You *might* need to force quit the app since Android sometimes caches things in memory with a simple exit.

It loaded the data files based on their name if it has been renamed I just don't see how this is possible.

Okay, going to Settings > Apps > Force Stop, with the file moved out of the directory, did the trick.  I'm guessing renaming it would have the exact same result.  So that galaxy I named, the one I saw in the photo, was also part of the expansion.  4 galaxies in my .41 degree FOV surrounding NGC 3628 turned into 15 galaxies at DSO mag 20.  At mag 25, it goes up to 24 surrounding galaxies.  Pretty cool!

Yeah, there are a lot of galaxies.  Try looking in the Virgo cluster at 10-15º FOV with the limiting magnitude turned way up.  Wall to wall galaxies.
