Hello,
I was using ss4 until now and I was saving my astrophotography to do targets to my favorites list and when I was done one I was checking the observed check box. Now I bought the ss6 and I can't do that. Also I am making notes about my targets and when I do that it places a check next to the object, so I am confusing.. Please return the chech box....

Bill Tschumy I'm confused as well. If you have an observing list (like My Favorites), you can still mark items as observed. Just tap the object in the list and choose "Create Observation" from the popup choices. After making an observation, the item will be checked.

Panagiotis Kazasidis The problem is that I want to make notes, such as filters and scope I want for this target and it is just check it as observed. I don't want that because it is not yet observed, I just wrote a note..

Bill Tschumy I really don't understand. When you tap "Create Observation" you are taken to a screen where you can add notes and other data about the observation.
Are you saying you want to make notes abut the observation but not actually mark it as observed? Unfortunately, that is not possible with the new architecture. That is not something that any one has asked for since SS6 was releases at the first of the year.

Panagiotis Kazasidis Yes, exactly this. Lets say I want to photograph the Propeller nebula. This nebula is not at any list. So I found it with star hopping from another photo, click the central star, a gaia catalogue, and save it. At the observation box I want to note that this star refers to the nebula and other notes such as filters like this "Propeller nebula, DWB111, Simeis 57.
Narrowband". But it is not yet photographed and I may skip it when I am searching my saved targets. That's why I want the simple check box. -
Bill Tschumy I can consider having an "observation" that has an undefined observation time (meaning it has not really been observed). However this might have other unintended consequences.
Right now, what you want is not possible, but I will consider it.

Panagiotis Kazasidis I think it is a usefull feature and it was already existed in a previous version, so why not in the last ? Thank you in advance.

Bill Tschumy Well, it changed because SS6 has a totally new way of handling Observations. They are no longer necessarily tied to observing lists. You can have standalone observations that are independent of observing lists. I was not aware that people were making pseudo-observations as you describe. You are the first to ask about this.
