Importing SS5 files to SS6, why so difficult?

Considering how many folks upgrading from SS5 pro to SS6 pro, why can't SS6 look upon installation for older versions and offer to import previous lists, settings etc.?

I found a way to do it through copping the old files to Google drive and opening them one by one, but that is silly and inefficient considering that both versions are on the same phone.

What do I miss?

If you open SkySafari 6 and go to the Help section, the very first topic should be Migrating from SkySafari 5 to SkySafari 6 with full instructions.  I'm not sure why they didn't have SS6 scan the folder structure for older versions of their software, but it could have something to do with the many versions of Android, the many past versions of their software (I have three SS versions installed) or some other reason.  Using a file explorer, I was able to copy my data over in a matter of seconds, per the directions, with no issues at all.  Sounds like you've got it figured out already, but others may still be looking for this help section.

    Hi Chris

Actually, the first thing I did was to look in Help on my phone and also online instructions. Both imply that there should be SS6 pro folder on my phone. I looked hard but could not find it. There is SS5 pro folder but there is no SS6 pro folder, even though both versions are installed. This is why I had to go creative and come out with my way to handle it, but that required importing one list at a time.

Luckily,  I did not have that many observing list I wanted to import. I like SS6, it is sophisticated and intuitive, it can flawlessly import millions of entries from online DSO and star databases. This is why I was bummed that there is no built-in way to import a few simple user files from default location on the same phone.
