Skysafari 6 apple watch app needs force quit in order to refresh

I've had Skysafari 6.2.1.0 for some time, now running on iOS 12.1 on an iPhone 8.  I just got an Apple Watch 3, running WatchOS 4-something.  The SkySafari watch app does not refresh its display unless I do a force quit and restart the watch app.

Are you seeing a blank screen?  I got the watch app to show data for a few minutes yesterday but it's back to a blank screen today.

I upgraded to WatchOS 5 yesterday, which improved response.  The screen remains blank for roughly five seconds, and then refreshes with correct, current data.  But it's still necessary to force-quit Skysafari on the watch in order to get any refreshing.

I bought the watch on Black Friday.  Its installed o/s, which was version 4.3.1 or so, did hang to a blank screen sometimes.

Well, I'm still puzzled about how to make the watch app work reliably.  Power cycling the watch has worked a couple of times but is not really an acceptable standard procedure, IMO.

We don't understand why this seems to work for some people and not others.  We will try to spend some time figuring it out in the next month or so.  I have previously looked at this for days and was not able to determine what the problem was.

Thanks for checking into this, Bill!  Let me know if there is any debugging I can do to help.

On an almost unrelated note...  It would be great to have one of the faces be clock data with seconds...

Still unreliable with iOS 12.1.1 and watchOS 5.1.2

The screen is blank (most of the time) except for an incrementing clock in the upper right hand window.  When I press hard on the watch face the clock dips towards the center a bit and then returns to the edge.

A couple of times I've been able to see planetary data in the watch app.  But it seems to be static.  The Sun's elevation doesn't change, for example, even though the clock display updates.
