  You can always se the Flamsteed number in the Object Info panel (assuming the star has a Flamsted number).  On the screen, we preferentially show the Bayer designation and if there isn't one, the Flamsteed number.  This preference cannot currently be changed.  To have the catalog numbers displayed, be sure to turn off "Show Proper Name" in the Star Settings.

  Yes, that worked very well for me.  Turning off proper names uncluttered the display.
