I get this every time I try to download all the DSS images for an observing list:
This is SS Pro 6 on Android 8, Samsung Tab A 8". I've had it happen on a 30-odd item list and a 100+ item list

John Sillasen How much space is available on your tablet? Reboot lately? I just tested Observing lists I created to pull down DSS images and it works with Android 8.1 on a Samsung phone. Admittedly it's not a tablet but I have had space issues on other devices where I had to work to clear cache, free up space, clean the recycling bin etc to get functions to work.

Len Philpot Plenty of space, 17 gb free on the tablet, 20 gb free on the SD card. It's installed on the tablet, not the card.

Bill Tschumy Look in the Storage settings. There is a control for how much space to allocate to the cache. Bump it up.

Len Philpot Youdaman. That did it - Thanks! Dunno why I didn't notice that, I've been through settings more than a few times.
Just curious - Where are the images saved on Android? Are they saved as a blob or as individual per-object images that could be copied off-device for other use?

Bill Tschumy Yeah you should be able to find them. The exact location may vary from device to device. We write them to the app's "cache" directory. On my Android 8 device I find it at:
/data/data/com.simulationcurriculum.skysafari6plus/cache/dssCache
The files are named after the object so should be easy to determine which is which.

Len Philpot That's weird... I need to confirm my search tool is even searching properly. I downloaded 114 images but can't find anything at all named "dssCache" and searching for NGC*, M* or IC* (case-insensitive) doesn't find anything either.
I'm on a Samsung tablet running Android 8. I'll have to see if I score an Android terminal emulator. Maybe there's 'find' available instead of searching from some GUI app of unknown capabilities.
No biggie - Just something to keep me occupied for a while. :-)
