Why Does Google PlayStore Say SkySafari 6 Plus Is Not Compatible With My Galaxy Tab 2? (Answer: Minimum OS = Android 4.4)

Guys, I've been using SS for several years - thru several versions - most recently SS5 Pro - on my old Galaxy Tab 2 and on my phone (Samsung 8+).  Recently I purchased a new tablet, a Galaxy Tab A, newer / faster / etc.  BUT I find out that it does not have a compass / gyro.  Anyway, I purchased SS6 Plus, for the new Tab A.  Then I went to the play store and added SS6 Plus for my phone.  SS6 seems to work fine on both, but I'm wondering about using SS6 on the new tablet - no compass / gyro.??  So, I went to the play store to download SS6 Plus on my old tablet, but the store response was that the Galaxy Tab 2 is not compatible.  What's up?  Is the tablet old / slow?  Or, am I only allowed to download two copies of the software?

Anyway, keep up the good work.  Sky Safari is a great app!

Hey Don-- Do you know what version of Android you have on your Galaxy Tab 2?  I think the minimum for SS6 is Android 4.4.  I recently upgraded my tablet to the Galaxy Tab S2 because of this and it works great.  Hope this helps!

    Don,

Did you ever get this figured out?  As Chris said, you must have at least Android 4.4 for SS6 (I think it was 4.0 for SS6).

Not having a Compass & Gyro shouldn't affect the basic functionality of the app, but you will not be able to hold it up to the sky and have it show you where the phone is pointed.
