Is SkySafari Available For Windows OS? (Answer: No, We Develop Starry Night 8 On Windows 10)

Hi everyone, I have Sky Safari 6 Pro on my iPad. My Q is, can I down load for free or share sky safari 6Pro to my windows based desk top so I can connect to my Celestron Nextstar SE8. I don’t fancy paying twice to use on the same scope and from the one email address. Tia

    Hi Stargazer,

SkySafari is only available on iOS, Android, and macOS.  There is no Windows version.

For Windows 10 we offer Starry Night 8.  But, this would be an additional purchase.

However, you are welcome to install SkySafari on as many iOS devices as you own, provided you're logged into the iTunes App Store using the same account used to make the original purchase.

You can control your Celestron 8 SE using either a Celestron WiFi Module (aka SkyQLink) or our very own SkyFi 3

Note, with the SkyFi 3 purchase you can also get Starry Night Pro 8 included for $50

    Thanks!

SkySafari doesn't run on Windows.  Only iOS, Mac and Android.

Even if it did you would have to buy a license on the new platform.  These are largely separate development efforts (at least the UI is) and we can't maintain multiple code bases without charging for all platforms.

You can always download WSA-GApps-pico_2204.40000.20.0_x64_Release-Nightly (google this and follow the instructions), and you'll be able to run Google Play on your Windows OS. You can then install any Android app you like on your Windows desktop.

    SkySafara looks amazing on a 4K 55" screen. :)
    Thanks guys!
