Why Do I See Different Sky Maps On Two Devices, Both Using SkySafari 6, Same Location, Same Time? (Answer: Read On!)

Hello,

 

I have my phone and tablet with skysafari 6 with latest updates, but the two devices show diferent sky maps on same location and time. I have noticed, that the phone is showing the correct positions and map, the tablet is wrong. I have noticed, since i was observing the sunset and the sun on the phone set correctly, on the tablet it showed aprox. At 23h, which is impossible.

Do you have any advice? Thank you. Borut

  Hi Borut, 

  Please check that you have set correctly in both apps Settings:

  1. Date & Time (Use Current Time + Automatic DST)
  2. Location (Use Current Location)
  3. Coordinates (Horizon)
  4. Precession (Current Epoch)

  If you still encounter a difficulty please attach a screenshot showing what you see as the sky map for each app.

  Borut,

  I sync my settings file with LiveSky and if I want them both at the same point at the same time I can go into my settings file by going to Save & Restore Settings and clicking on the one I want (in my case it's called Current Settings) and selecting Apply. This way both of my devices are on the same settings file.
