Keiron Smith Hi Steve,
This is not planned at the moment.
Thanks!

Scott Williams I’ll second the request....please consider adding support for the Focuser. The Focuser has the ability to set focus per object, and this addition to SkySafari 6 Pro (OSX and iOS and iPadOS) would be an extremely attractive ability for Observing Lists.

steve wright I would pay a substantial in app purchase for this. Celestron has the technical communication details on their website ... why not give it a go? Its a new product that will be very popular across their entire telescope product line.
-
Scott Williams I would too. I have SS6 Pro on my MacBook Pro, my iPad Pro and my iPhone. All synced through LiveSky....it’s a brilliant solution to all my observing needs, and adding Focuser control would be a sweet add indeed!

steve wright Here is link to their drivers if you want an application engineer to look at it:

Scott Williams Thanks Steve......that’s an exe and I’m all in on Apple.....plus I’m not a software developer.....I’m a Unix Engineer by trade: Solaris, AIX and RHEL.... build ‘em, deploy ‘em, and fix ‘em when they break.....but as far as what runs on ‘em.....not my department! But if they make the same plug-in available as a DMG, I’ll be happy to try it out.

Richard Sauerbrun I also agree that support for this focus motor would be a terrific addition!
-
Iain Whyte I also would pay in app for this feature

Pedro Braganca Hello, our upcoming 6.7 update will include Celestron Focus Motor. We are beta testing now.
-
steve wright That's really great news Pedro. Thanks!
-
Stuart Buchanan Pedro Braganca you said the 6.7 update includes focuser support. Running latest Sky Safari 6 Pro. i get a message telling me my focuser is not calibrated and i have calibrated. how do you actually perform the focus, there are no controls on screen and unlike sky portal no seperate focuser button on bottom bar. am i missing something? i have looked again at sky safari 6 manual and there is no mention of focuser control.
-
Steve Wright I have no issues with sky safari pro. Do you hsve telescope settings set to celestron WiFi? Are you sure focuser is plugged in?
-
Stuart Buchanan I do indeed have it set to celestron WiFi. It is plugged in because it asks me to calibrate which I did. My question is in celestron SkyPortal the menu bar at the bottom has a focuser icon which you select and has options for focuser control. However in Sky Safari 6 pro it does not and I cannot see anywhere in the UI that relates to the focuser. Where in the UI do you control the focuser?
-
Pedro Braganca Hi Stuart, you can toggle on the Focuser button in the toolbar by going to Settings - Appearance & Behaviour - Configure Toolbar -FOcus Motor Control .

Steve Wright Stuart
If you are using iOS I would try this (if you are android I am not sure this will work):
1. Make sure you are running skysafari 6 pro version 6.7.2. You check the app store for that. If it says "Open" you have latest version. If it says update, I would update.
2. The focuser icon will appear if you choose "Settings" then "Appearance and Behavior" then "Configure Tool Bar". You can now turn on "Focus Motor Control" to get it to show up. If it is not present, you probably have old version of Sky Safari Pro.
They did not update the help functions yet. I think they were in a hurry to get the much needed celestron telescope bug fixes out there, they saved updating the manual for another time. I think that was a good move, because aligning did not work in the app.
-
Stuart Buchanan Thanks guys, the ticket, it was indeed just the icon needed selected. i thought i went into every menu looking, but i think i just missed it.
-
Steve Wright I recommend you remove the focuser from the menu below.
When you get a good connection from telescope to app .... and telescope has focuser plugged in ... a new arrow up and down button appears in upper right of screen above the slew commands. If you click on that button, you are in the focuser control area.
Thanks
Steve

Steve Wright Celestron focus motor works great when using their WiFi module and sky safari plus... but when I connect an ASIAIR network to AVX mount via usb hand controller... the feature does not show up. I am choosing “Celestron AVX/CGE/CGEM/CGX” for scope type. Sky safari plus works great with this connection, but focus motor does not connect or work ... any advice?

Dirk Tetzlaff similar problem: I am using Celestron Starsense for Skywatcher with Celestron Focus Motor plugged in. Connection to SS via SkyFi III. I can not use the Celestron Wifi setup, but have to connect to the SSI (starsense interface) with some Celestron model, other than Wifi. I can enable the Focus Menu item but receive a message "no focuser found" even though I can control the focuser with the HC. Any solution to this ?

Keiron Smith Steve,
ASIAIR is not officially supported at this time. We do not have one in-house, we have not used one, we were not consulted by ASIAIR when they brought it to market. So, you will have to troubleshoot that on your own, within the community, for the time.
Dirk,
Celestron Focus Motor support is only available via Celestron WiFi at this time.
Thanks!
