How Do I Setup SkySafari 6 Pro + SkyFi 3 With An ASUS Zenfone Running Android 8 To Control A Celestron CPC? (Answer: Read On!)

Dear Sirs

I do own a brand new SkyFi III wireless Telescope controller.

Is it possible to controll my Celestron CPC deluxe mount with my Android device ?

I have Sky Safari 6 pro and 5 plus on my ASUS Zenfone. The phone is on Android version 8. On the SkySafari 6 pro help page for telescope contol it is said, that most Android devices DO NOT support Ad hoc WiFi networks but I phones will.

Does this mean, that I will have to buy an Iphone to controle my telesccope via my smartphone ??

Again I bougt SkyFi III and Skysafari 6 pro to control my telescop ....

    Hi Ferris, 

    SkyFi 3 supports Android and iOS.

    1. Connect SkyFi 3 to the bottom of your Celestron CPC hand controller.
    2. Start SkyFi 3.
    3. On your Zenfone, connect to the SkyFi 3 network.
    4. Star-align your mount using the Celestron CPC hand controller.
    5. In SkySafari Settings > Scope Setup > Connect via WiFi to your SkyFi 3 (Auto Detect).
    6. Main menu > Scope > Connect

    I will put my CPC 11 Edge HD on the celestron pro wedge.

    What mount type do I have to chose on SkyFi Safari 6 Pro.

    I think...

    Settings > Telescope Setup > Mount Type > GoTo Equatorial (Fork)

    Please confirm with Celestron Support
