Jeffery Best Was looking for another topic & stumbled upon yours...…….See if this will help you...…I use CPWI to align my Celestron CGEM. You can go to Celestron's website for details & free download of the software. Once aligned, I switch over to Starry Night Pro Plus 7 to slew my scope. Leave CPWI running as it has effectively replaced the Nexstar for tracking & you can also add more alignment stars very easily. This works out great for me. I never have to touch the Nexstar keypad.
Another thought...……...Your location may also be setup wrong in Starry Night. If not correct your goto's will be wrong. CPWI needs your correct location too or goto's will be incorrect there as well...……..Hope this helps...…...Good luck!

Pedro Braganca Hi Elliot, as Jeffrey mentions, ensure you have your location, time (and timezone) set correctly in Starry Night and matching the location/time/timezone on the telescope handbox. There is a Sync option in Starry Night. Refer to manual for more info.

Elliottastronomy i did..(time matching) (location matching) both for the mount and for the program.... I downloaded the most current drivers for ascom along with the celestron driver (nexstsar) and I hit connect as it’s com6 and it’s after I align the telescope outside and get it all aligned...and it says align success...go inside, hit connect and it shows where the mount is pointing which is good, HOWEVER the marker still moves and doesn’t keep up with the star that its looking at...so over time i slew to an object and I’m 10-30 degrees off.... i have done everything, and I’m at wits end And I don’t know what else to do!! Ps..It goes exactly as this...hand controller...micro usb cable from the bottom of the controller into a 7 port hub (6 if the used) then into a 50 foot usb2.0 powered repeater cable into the dell laptop.

Keiron Smith Hi Elliot,
Try a direct cable connection from computer to hand controller. Remove the USB hub, and confirm the issue still persists.
Thanks!
