I received a copy of the software with my Celestron CGEM II 1100 SCT. The flyer mentions being able to control the scope with the software. When I actually use it though, all of the control options an menu options are grayed out with "Upgrade" on them.

Keiron Smith You must have received a download code for the basic version of Starry Night Celestron 8. It is not the SE (Special Edition) version.
Please contact Celestron Support and request a download code for the SE version which includes scope control.
Email: mail@celestronsupport.com
Phone: 1-800-421-9649Thanks!

Max Dobres I also got a download code for Starry Night Celestron Special Edition and it is definitely the special edition (it says so in "about" and on start up) and my flyer also mentions the ability to control scopes but the entire hardware section is greyed out. I bought a RASA 8 for imaging and without the ability to define sensors, scopes, reducers and therefore FOVs it is completely useless. I am trying to understand what is special about it.

Keiron Smith Max,
The Special Edition does include telescope control.
Look in:
- View > Telescope Setup
- View > Telescope Control
However, many other Pro features are not included in the Special Edition.
The Celestron Special Edition is equivalent to CSAP + telescope control.

All the Pro features that are not available in SE are greyed out, and overlayed with an "Upgrade" button.
