If I Use SkySafari 6 Pro + Celestron WiFi Can I Align My Scope Using Only The App (Answer: Yes!)

I want to use SkySafri 6+ to control my Celestron NexStar 8 GPS scope thru a wi-fi connection. Can I bypass the usual scope hand controller alignment procedure and just align the scope with SkySafri 6+ software instead?

  Hi George, 

  Yes, you can provided - you are using a Celestron WiFi Module, aka SkyQLink.  Then the connection is via Celestron WiFi network and all alignments must then be made via the SkySafari 6 Plus/Pro UI.

  Sorry, I gave some incorrect info in my question. My apologies.
  My scope is an older Celestron NexStar 8 GPS and I'm using a Bluetooth module, NOT wi-fi, to control my scope. So, the question is, do I first have to align the scope with the HC on the scope prior to using the SkySafari 6+ app or can it be aligned using just the app on my tablet and not align with the HC?

  If you're using a bluetooth module then you must align your mount first using the hand controller.
