[UI Issue] Community Feedback On Main Toolbar Configuration Options

So the toolbar is supposed to have ten (10) items.  Whilst the current implementation won’t allow the user to usefully select more buttons from the configurable list, due to a bug, the toolbar can shrink to an even less useful nine (9)…

The Main Menu is one of the configurable items in the Configure Toolbar list in Settings.  If Main Menu is dragged from “Always Visible” to “Hidden” (to remove unused/redundant items from the toolbar), the toolbar now shrinks from showing ten items to only nine items in the toolbar.  In this state the Help button, when dragged to “Always Visible” is never shown in the toolbar - no matter what other items are configured to be visible.

The Main Menu item is also obstinate in being difficult to reposition within the toolbar - usually requiring other items to be moved in relation to the Main Menu item in the list.

The toolbar really does need more work.  As is, it is both unfriendly and inconsistent in its operation.  With the Toolbar being the main interface, this item really needs to function properly.

I have read the thread and appreciate all the points of view.  I am not a fan of the new toolbar restrictions at all - iphone in portrait mode reduces available icons from 7 to 5, and one of them is forced to be 'menu' which I don't want so it's really 7 down to 4.  I will stick with SS6 until this is fixed.

I just wanted to comment that I prefer the swipeable ribbon from previous SS versions to the 5 item portrait version for Iphones currently implemented.

I NEVER use my Iphone in landscape orientation. Asking me to modify this behaviour is a huge surprise. I hope you bring back the swipeable ribbon.

I do see potential for the tap/hold menu but how do you configure it?

I can see the time and effort you have invested in these changes to the app.

    thanks,

I'm sorry I missed beta testing, but I had other pressing matters. And I did not expect such radical changes.

The biggest I hate is the loss of the functional ribbon for a bad design.

There is an engineering maxim: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

This is a disaster on the iPhone. I never use the iPhone in landscape. Ipad and mac, yes.

The menubar is limited, unmovable and to see more options I'm forced to flip to landscape. Unacceptable!

That issue alone means I'm staying on 6.

Looks like most other issues have been addressed with option switches. Thank you.

I'm still not keen on the horizon color. I can see where it helps in night mode. But I mainly use my iPhone in daytime for planning.

An old request, still not done. You have meteor showers. Thank you. Please add visibility data (rise, transit, set) for the radiant. These are very important for planning. You have the R.A. and Dec, please compute like any other object.
