I own an azgti mount, and skysafari 6 and an ipad pro. After alignment with synscan pro, back to skysafari. It just drifted out of view. No tracking. I made sure ipad did not go.to sleep . No change. I was told to search in telescope support but i found nothing helping See skysafari 7. Leap of faith. Bought it. Same issue. About to ask for a refund. Care to help?

Jamie hi Jose
I own SS6 and SS7 pro - i found a similar bug in SS6 and SS7 early build - however ive done a lot of testing and feedback to SS team and they have taken on board feedback, can confirm this looks fixed in SS7 - i use AZEQ6, iphone and skyscan wifi and ok for me so far.
The tracking issue hasnt reoccurred yet with my setup on SS7 with latest build. Are you definitely using SS7 and it hasnt invoked SS6? suggest delete SS6 also to ensure no conflict.
Also, id recommend checking Synscan pro app again - it has switched tracking off in past so double check to ensure its on first, then retry.

Albireo Two things to try, after completing the star alignment in SynScan Pro and connecting SkySafari 7 Pro to your AZ-GTi using SynScanLink:
- Goto to an object in SkySafari. After the AZ-GTi finishes slewing, does it track?
- Manually turn on Sidereal Tracking in SynScan Pro (three chevrons in the upper right-hand corner)
This happens with SkySafari 6 Pro and Luminos as well, so I'm pretty sure it's a SynScan Pro annoyance having to do with the fact it always defaults to No Tracking (and also no solar observation).
FYI the free SynScan (non-Pro) app defaults to sidereal tracking, though unfortunately the non-Pro version doesn't allow solar observation or the very convenient 1-star alignment. Another annoyance.
I've spoken to Sky-Watcher customer service about allowing users to save tracking (and solar observation) choices in SynScan Pro, but I doubt it will ever happen.
CONCLUSION: SynScan Pro is very annoying. I sometimes wonder whether its settings are in conflict with other apps (SkySafari and Luminos).
Note that SkySafari 6 Pro has trouble getting the correct alignment offsets from SynScan / SynScan Pro. There's a workaround (connect twice) but SkySafari 7 Pro 7.0.1 appears to have this particular problem licked.

Jose Joaquin There is an option in sysncan.pro "keep screeen on". I selected it. I also downloaded skysafari latest update. It does work. Poor weather, but did test. It tracks. Dont know what did the magic

Keiron Smith Jamie, Albireo, thank you for helping Jose see the light with his setup!

Albireo Jose Joaquin "Magic" has some truth to it, unfortunately. (See below)
Keiron Smith I actually agree with Jose that there is still something a bit funky with the SkySafari + SynScan Pro interaction. On the rare occasion I also remember having no-tracking issues with my AZ-GTi — it's just that I can't reproduce it consistently.
The problem might be manifesting only after a long period of time has elapsed and a connection between SkySafari and SynScan Pro is especially "vanilla". It disappears after few more interactions.
So while I can't reproduce it yet, it's definitely something to keep in the back of our minds. I think it may be related to the error messages that SkySafari sometimes imposes on SynScan/SynScan Pro.
And, to be candid: this isn't a problem with Luminos as far as I can see. It has a zillion other things that make it less palatable to use than SkySafari — even with SynScan / SynScan Pro — but when it's connected to my AZ-GTi it's does so more reliably and without causing error screens to pop up with SynScan.

Jose Joaquin I bought luminos after my dissapoinment with ss 7. Used it several times . Smooth tracking, no issue there. But again problems: no double star data, among other things
I then bought again ss 7(leap of faith), and fingers crossed
In the end i might just end avoid using apps and shit. Just old fashioned hand control of scope -
Keiron Smith Albireo,
As you know, if you can reproduce it, we can fix it. Ros is totally focused on fixing SS7 + SynScan WiFi.
Jose,
Same for you. Since initial release, SS7 is receiving rapid updates. If you find something broken with SS7 please discuss in the community forums with Albireo and Jamie.
And we will get it fixed.

Jose Joaquin I have enjoyed clear skies these days. Di some tests saturday and sunday
First try: two star aligment in synscan pro. Back to ss7, tracking lasted less than a minute. Failure
Second try: single star aligment sysncan pro... perfect tracking rest of the night (i am concerned with the accuracy of this aligment method , but it appeared to work ok.)
My point, aligment method in synscan pro and tracking failure?. Related?
This has happened twice -
Albireo Something must be different about our SynScan Pro interactions with our mounts, because we get different symptoms even when ignoring SkySafari's presence.
First, before I forget, here is my setup:
- SkySafari 7 Pro beta build 1027 (same as 7.0.1 release)
- iPhone XS (15.1), iPad Pro 11" 2018 (15.1)
- AZ-GTi with firmware 3.36.A5 ("Firmware: Universal DC Motor Driver with Built-in Wi-Fi, Version 3.36")
- SynScan Pro 1.19.0
On my AZ-GTi, using either 1-star or "Bright Star" (i.e. 2-star) alignment always causes SynScan Pro to immediately set tracking on. I verify this not only by watching the mount slowly move and hearing the very soft motor noises, but also in the Info screen that shows moving alt/az coordinates.
This is notable because SynScan Pro by default is set to "No Tracking" upon a fresh start.
If I then manually set tracking to "No Tracking" in SynScan Pro, the motors stop and alt/az coordinates freeze. Again, all this makes sense.
Nevertheless, when I then start SkySafari and it connects to SynScan Pro, tracking appears to always be set to be ON even though SynScan Pro shows tracking to be off (in the screen you get when you tap the three chevron icon in the upper right-hand corner). Again, this is verified by the motor noises, changing alt/az coordinates in SynScan Pro, etc.
I don't at all doubt your experience, but I'm frustratingly unable to force my Build 1027 / AZ-GTi / SynScan Pro setup to do anything other than always track at the correct rate.

Albireo Jose Joaquin While I keep trying on my end, consider double-checking you actually completed SynScan Pro star alignment with your AZ-GTi before switching to SkySafari, say by executing a goto in SynScan Pro and checking tracking.
I noticed recently that for some reason SynScan Pro sometimes needs me to lightly tap one or more flashing arrows on directional pad before the alignment button can be tapped (backlash take-up, perhaps). More than once I tapped on the alignment button prematurely and switched to SkySafari only to find that SynScan Pro hadn't actually computed an alignment, even though it sent something back to SkySafari.
