Personally, as for me, I'd rather not uninstall and reinstall a bunch of times, because I've spent hours and hours (days, in fact) tuning my install exactly the way I want it. I'd rather not take a chance on something not being restored by a preferences file - just in case something is not tied to the preferences file. So I guess what I'm hoping and praying for is a software release update that would address this glitch once and for all? I've not invested in the "plus" version... so I'm "all in." I always brag about Starry Night pro, both in person, as well as on CloudyNights forum -- and in these training videos. But when the SkyGuide is blank, I don't conceal that from the people with whom I'm sharing, obviously. So for example, see this message on CloudyNights in which I ask, "Could Starry Night Pro be the ultimate powerhouse planetarium software for both amateur and professional astronomers alike because it's so rich in information and power?" But because of my commitment to be honest, I also mention the glitch in the Sky Guide, here:
I'll also report back if Starry Night addresses the glitch of course - and that will help fellow amateurs see that Sim Curr responds to paying customers unlike many other planetarium software products on the market.
Thanks for any help you can give us. From what I can see, this has been a recurring problem and I can't find that it's ever been fixed yet. Thanks again.
